Encoders and Decoders with Deep Packet Recovery

Adtec mediaHUB-HD 422 encoders and SoloistHD-Pro decoders are enabling Superior Access Solutions’ Deep Packet Recovery System, a Transport Stream compliant video/audio transport system supporting hardware encoders and decoders. The DPR system supports both Single Program Transport Stream (SPTS) and Multiple Program Transport Stream (MPTS) with ATSC PSIP tables.

DPR provides bi-directional transport with 256-bit AES encryption for video, VoIP, high fidelity audio, LAN, and ATSC with PSIP, all with low latency, QoS and network management. This is a solution for many applications. Video transport can be SD or HD, MPEG-2 or H.264, IP and ASI based streams are supported. To further enhance the network, SAS can offer Ethernet switches, encrypted tunnels, bandwidth aggregation devices, VoIP, LAN, and high fidelity audio for both fixed facility and mobile applications. The system addresses video, voice and data signal transport.

“DPR delivery is different than a file based transport such a Flash, Windows Media or Akamai streaming. DPR is standards compliant real time, full motion/frame rate, high resolution video using hardware encoders and decoders instead of decoding video and audio inside a browser embedded software decoder running on and displayed on a PC,” explains Rick Cabalka, Vice President of Sales for Superior Access Solutions.

The Soloist-HD Pro is a broadcast quality High Definition MPEG 2 and AVC decoder. Multi-CODEC decoding has never been easier or more reliable. The Soloist-HD Pro supports ASI, GIGE and Hard Drive Transport Stream decoding. Video outputs include D1 (composite), HDMI with HDCP and HD-SDI with embedded audio. Decode MPEG 2 SD 422, HD 420, AVC SD and HD video. Audio decoding includes a single stereo channel of Dolby Digital, Dolby 5.1*, MPEG 1 Layer 2 and AAC-LC audio. Output broadcast quality video with embedded stereo audio on the HD-SDI interface and to consumer monitors with the HDMI interface. Composite D1 video and balanced analog audio are also supported for legacy NTSC or PAL environments. The decoder can down convert HD 1080i or 720 P to Composite or SDI.
