T-VIPS Joins the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union

T-VIPS, a global leader in professional video contribution and distribution solutions, today announced its membership of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) http://www.abu.org.my. The ABU facilitates the development of broadcasting in the Asia-Pacific region and currently has over 208 members across 58 countries.

“The ABU is a very important voice for the broadcasting industry in the Asia-Pacific region and we are delighted to be involved with it,” said Johnny Dolvik, CEO, T-VIPS. “We are committed to being a part of the development of DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television) in Asia and are excited by the pace of development for DTT throughout the region. We have been operating in Asia for a number of years and now that we are gaining increased market traction we think it is right for us to play a bigger role in the Asia-Pacific broadcast community.”

Formed in 1964, ABU is a non-profit, non-government, professional association of broadcasting organisations. The ABU provides an avenue for professional broadcasters to cooperate and collaborate, irrespective of political, racial or religious affiliation. It organizes activities amongst its members to encourage regional and international cooperation between broadcasters.

“We are pleased to include T-VIPS in our membership,” said Javad Mottaghi, Secretary-General of ABU. “We are looking forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with T-VIPS, whose experience and expertise can contribute immensely to media development in this region particularly as a channel to our other members through the ABU.”
