Whether it is a sports fixture, play or concert, general entertainment or remote studio to production centre, our team of specialists can provide solutions which enable remote production.

Remote production can be between two (or more) fixed infrastructures, the production control being remote form the studio infrastructure, or by use of remote fly-pack or localised OB production equipment vehicles, or REMI (REMote Infrastructure). In either case, production can be enable through the use of inter site IP links, and even over suitable public internet connections.
By combining remote production with a data centre or centralised IP infrastructure, it is possible to maximise the the use of expensive resources, even bringing shared processes into a productions which otherwise not normally be possible. Production equipment no longer needs to be co-located with control rooms, studios and outside broadcast facilities. By including connectivity to the 'cloud', production resources can be spun up as and when required for the production

Key to remote production is the ability to have low latency and reliable video and audio streams between the various locations (production control, equipment facility or data centre, cloud facilities, studio and outside broadcast).

Our solutions include low latency JPEG-XS for primary sources and production monitoring, and low bandwidth h.264 or HEVC for secondary streams between locations. Broadcast IP gateways and firewalls provide secure reliable streams across IP links and the internet, with seamless packet protection over dual links.

SDN orchestration working across the entire infrastructure, with end point monitoring provides deterministic routing over the IP infrastructure reducing the possibility of link over subscription, whilst monitoring paths to ensure the most reliable connectivity can be achieved.
